When Sue Slater lost her sight from Retinitis Pigmentosa approximately 23 years ago, she determined that blindness would not stop her from enjoying a meaningful and productive lifestyle.
Three years ago Sue became a cruise agent working from home. She has associated with host agencies to make it possible to customize travel for sighted and visually impaired alike.
Her dream of success in the travel industry was realized when she organized a successful cruise to the Western Caribbean on Carnival Triumph last November as well as a successful New England/Canada cruise this past September on the Carnival Victory. Then, in July she organized a group cruise in Europe from Barcelona with the Royal Caribbean.
Sue is a cut above the average travel agent. She specializes in group cruises for the visually impaired and uses her extensive training and first-hand knowledge to make cruising and traveling accessible and easy.
She lives with her husband of 22+ years in St. Louis, Missouri. They have a daughter attending college in Florida and a son employed as an insurance company actuary in San Antonio Texas.
